The following list is comprised of contractors and companies that I have had a great working experience with. While not representative of all the contractors that I’ve worked with, these are the ones I have recommended to others and that I would be happy to work with again.

The initial screening and background checking that I do consists of:

  • BBB Record Check
  • Insurance/License Verification with the Dept. of Consumer Affairs
  • AngiesList.com ratings
  • National Affiliations or Memberships

Chimney Sweep/Repairs:

Electrician:

  •  Projects: Modification of existing wiring, addition of outlets

Handyman/General Contractor:
Mr. Handyman of NE Queens and Rictor Corp. (contractor details)

  • Projects: Appliance Installation

New SAS Construction Corp. (contractor details)

  • Projects: Concrete, Stucco and Flashing

Vera Good Contracting Corp. (contractor details)

  • Projects: Underground concrete removal and disposal; drywall repair

Plumbing:
Mr. Rooter of Greater New York (contractor details)

  • Projects: New boiler/heater hookup; gas service reconnect; misc leak repairs and upgrades

Roofing and Roof Construction:
Roofmaster (contractor details)
Note: Roofmaster started a process of a reorganization in late 2007 (before Oct) and has (as of March 2008) added focuses on green and solar roofing.

  • Projects: Resurfaced roof, gutter re-routing, antique vintage skylight re-finishing/maintenance, vent pipe removal

Window/Glass Repair:
